Thanksgiving

We went to Riverton for Thanksgiving this year. It was nice to see the family and spend some time with all of them. We had lots of yummy food, and dessert. Ryan's aunt who lives in Arizona got to come up, which was nice because we don't get to see them that often. On Saturday they made some really good tacos so we went over to eat with them and Grandma and Grandpa Treese.

October

I know i said i would better about writing more often but it seems that life just doesn't ever slow down anymore! Since i last wrote, we have had a lot happen. Rylee is now crawling all over the place, pulling up to standing using everything, and walking holding onto furniture etc. I'm sure she'll be walking before Christmas this year! She has a good influence that takes her bottle and walks off with it called Leila. Leila is our friends daughter who is roughly 4 months older than Rylee (even though Rylee is bigger than Leila, i have a big daughter!), and learned to walk really well a few weeks ago and now when Amy (Leila's mom) and i go to the gym, Rylee and Leila get to play together so therefore Leila gives some good motivation to learn to walk soon since her bottle keeps being taken away! It's pretty funny to watch though.

Girls swim/ diving season is over now and they did okay at state. Not what they usually get from what Ryan tells me but hey i came from Riverton where I'm used to losing so 4th place doesn't sound so bad. But i guess they usually take first or second at both conference and state and they didn't get higher than 3rd at either of them. But i guess they lost a bunch of seniors that were really good so it's bound to happen every now and then.

We also went to Riverton twice within a week to hunt and then for Halloween. We got 6 antelope in one day, yes i said 6 in one day! It was a little frustrating though because i hadn't hunted in ... oh.... i don't know... 4 years. So i was a little rusty, and i lost our licenses for about an hour before we saw them on the side of the road. But we made it through the day and got them all so we wouldn't have to go back out the next day. We all said we got 1 1/2 because we each got 1 good sized and 1 fawn. All in all we have a good amount of meat and we've been loving the jerky. The next weekend we went back up to Riverton for Halloween. Ryan's sister Jenni likes to throw a Halloween party where everyone including the adults have to dress up. Ryan, Rylee, and I were crayons. Ryan was red i was blue and since those two colors mixed make purple that's what color Rylee was. Jenni was the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, Chad was the tin man, Chloe was Dorthy, and baby Marshall was the cowardly lion. Debbie was a pink lady from Greese, and Shawn was a bum grocery cart and all. Amber's family was a bunch of different things. Amber and Chuck had..... ah... funny costumes. They were an outlet (Amber) and a plug-in (Chuck). The kids were a clown (Michael), a witch (Tally), a ninja (Cobey), a pumpkin (Brooklyn), and a power ranger (Carlos). Jenni had a scavenger hunt for the kids and we ate blood and guts (spaghetti), and then went to Grandma and Grandpa Treese's to show off all the costumes. I unfortunately forgot my camera so I'll get the pictures up after Thanksgiving when i get them from Debbie. More to come soon when i get all the pictures from everyone.

BBQ at G&G Treese's

So the same weekend that we were in Jackson we stopped by on the way back through Riverton to go to Grandma and Grandpa Treese's BBQ. All eight of their kids were there which was the first time that had happened in thirty some odd years. It was fun to see everyone and meet Debbie's (Ryan's mom) older sisters Peg and Karen, whom I'd never meet before (well i meet them two weeks before at the lake, but close enough). Ryan and i had a good time and Chloe (Jenni and Chad's little girl) loved to play with Rylee. I think Marshall (Chloe's little brother) is just not to the playing stage yet so she likes to interact with Rylee since she can sort of play with her. It was a fun weekend!

Jackson Hole

Last weekend Ryan had a swim/diving meet in Jackson, and i thought it would be fun to go and watch and do a little shopping since it had been before we were even engaged since i had been there. It was a pretty fun trip. I got all of us red Jackson hold sweat shirts, which i hope to get some family pictures taken in if fall ever decides to show up. Mom and I ate at some neat little restaurants and walked all over the square. However i did find out that Jackson is not a baby friendly down. They had stairs everywhere, the isles in the stores were narrow making it hard to push a stroller through, and when we went to eat lunch at the Cadillac Grill i had to put Rylee across the isle from us instead of next to the table since they put us at a booth right by the kitchen door. That was really frustrating. My mom had a good point though, most of Jackson is geared to the outdoorsy type so those people going to Jackson mostly likely wouldn't have little kids with strollers. All and all it was a good trip.

August!

So i know i said this about July but August came and went like that (snap of the fingers). Well first of all this summer has pretty much sucked! Yes we had some fun times but it felt so strange not doing our normal summer routine. Ryan was gone most of the summer working for my dad and with my brother on houses in Colorado Springs. I stayed home so that our house didn't get broken into again. That wasn't so much fun i stayed up half the night for the first week that Ryan was gone going over scenarios about if someone broke in i would grab Rylee then get the gun, or would i get the gun to protect Rylee first. UGG I hated that first week in the house by myself at night it was awful. Ryan also got sick of being away from home all the time and not seeing Rylee or me for anywhere from a week to almost two weeks at a time. I think all and all Ryan and Rylee & I spent five to six weeks of the summer apart. Then when we were together we couldn't really afford to go anywhere like the lake or just a small vacation to somewhere for a day or two which is what we normally do in the summer. Rylee was too young to do fireworks this year so we stayed in on the 4th. So yeah enough of my poor me rambling about this summer just putting it out there that this summer wasn't quite how we planned it.

On another note Ryan started coaching diving in August about a week before school started. So far he likes it. Central has a piece of equipment that help you learn dives and it's called a belt. Basically you don't hold the diver up in the air while they are learning the dive you just assist them a little so they aren't coming down as fast. Well at first he thought that would be a good thing because we never had a belt when we dove and thought that it would be useful. Boy we're we wrong... the girls got to where they were dependent on the belt even though Ryan wasn't assisting them anymore. They were doing the dive all on their own, they just wouldn't do it without the belt. Other than that glitch i think everything is going better. The girls are little different that Ryan remembers coaching. By different i mean they are a lot more afraid than Monica, Brandi, or I when we dove, so he's having a hard time understanding why they won't just try something. Honestly i don't understand either. Ryan and i think there is a definite diving mentality and it's oh so obvious when you don't have it.

Ryan also started teaching in August. On his first day the principle complimented him on already having the kids doing activities, so that's a good start I'd say. Ryan is only a part time teacher currently, but the school he is at has so many kids because parents have been transferring there kids since the other Jr. Highs had lower test scores last year, Ryan may get more classes and get bumped up to full time (cross your fingers)! This would be nice for us to get bumped up in pay too! :)

Well i know this post is long but i guess a lot more happened in August than i thought. I also started back to school to finish an Associates. Yes i know I'm only finishing an Associates, but i couldn't make up my mind while i was at UW, so i have about 87 credits in about two or three different areas. Now I'm just trying to finish up by associates this semester and then when i figure out what i want a degree in i can go back and not have to worry about my credits expiring. After this semester i'm hoping to start flight school in January to become a pilot. I'll have to do this in chunks because it costs almost as much as getting a BA, which i plan on doing when i find the right school with the right degree. But i'm pretty much excited, we live just a few blocks from the end of the runway here so i see planes landing and taking off all day and it just makes it so hard not to go sign up for lessons right then and there.

As for Rylee she has started to sit up on her own now. It's so nice to be able to take her to Walmart and not have to bring in the carrier because i can just sit her in the cart or stroller depending on the amount of shopping. She does so well too. She just sits and looks at everything that goes by and try's to play with whatever i put in the cart. She has started this whining phase where she just whines sometimes no matter what i do, and especially when i walk out of the room. Oh my goodness does she not want mommy out of her sights! I always liked that she would go to anyone easily but now we've just started to enter a clingy phase. I like that she wants me i just wish she'd want me a little less every now and then so i could get things done with out her getting mad. But all in all she's still a really good baby.

Well i think that's all for now. Sorry for such a long post I'll try to update more often from now on!

July

July came and went as faster than i thought possible. Ryan and i had a nice quiet 4th of July. No lake or fireworks this year. Next year should be better when Rylee will be older and can participate a little. That seems to be the pattern of this year.

Ryan started working for my Dad's company Las Deos Enterprises remodeling apartments and my brothers new home in Colorado Springs. It seems like this summer is just flying by with Ryan being in Colorado Springs and Rylee and I being here it seems like this summer has been nothing but work and hot boring days. While Ryan is remodeling homes and apartments i have also been working on my own projects around the house. I redid our bathrooms (paint, mirrors, and decorations), dry-walled our basement over the old wood paneling ( my dad taught and helped me), redid our flower beds, which amazingly took longer than i thought it would, trimmed up some of our bushes will work on more later. I have some more projects that i will be doing over this coming week when Ryan goes back to work.

Cheyenne Frontier Days was also in July. For those of you who may not know Cheyenne Frontier Days is one of the largest Rodeos there is nick named " The Daddy of em All". They have concerts and PBR rodeos in the evenings of this week and a half long affair. We went to Josh Turner and Alan Jackson both which are great in person and have amazing voices in my opinion. Rylee also had her first experience with the Thunderbird's Demonstration Team. She did as we expected, fine with the stunts and all but cried when they did the close very loud surprise fly by's. We covered her ears as best we could but she could still feel the vibrations and it was still loud. It was nice to have the family all here. All of Ryan's siblings and their families were here for about 4 days.

Rylee has also made some leaps and bounds in development recently. She can roll over both ways now. She first learned to roll from her belly to her back then from her back to her belly. Once she did that she forgot how to roll back until these past two weeks she's done great at going both directions. Also she cut two teeth in one night. She now has her two bottom front teeth. They are still working their way all the way in but she has them. And most recently she is learning to sit unsupported. She still teeters back and forth and occasionally says hello the the carpet or bed depending on where she is sitting. I am so glad she's learning to sit because she is almost too long to for her car seat according to the Dr. She is one inch from being to long for infant carriers and will have to move into a convertible carrier. I'm a little excited about that because those carriers are so awkward and become more so the heavier the child is. So naturally there is no way to carry those things gracefully. So carrying Rylee will be much easier for me than that carrier with my 18.5 lb daughter.

So the pictures from June took a while but i finally got them as well as some from Easter.

June

So i didn't realize it had been so long since i updated our blog. So to recap at the beginning of June well the 1st was my birthday. Ryan, Rylee, and I went mini golfing here in Cheyenne while it was raining. It was kind of fun since it has been a long time since we have played in the rain. Kind of brings you back to when your were a kid and splashing in puddles on your way home from school. Anyways after our lovely time in the rain we went to dinner just to two of us since James and Amy our good friends offered to watch Rylee for us.

So a little later in the month 10 days to be exact Ryan's cousin Brandon and his wife had their little girl Allie Hannah Treese. She is very cute, we haven't gotten down to see her yet but the pictures are cute. Also Ryan's sister Jenni and her family (Chad & Chloe) had their baby the 24th. It was a little boy 10 lbs 6 oz ok not so little. Jenni really wanted to have a V-back but she just wasn't progressing and i think we know why now. She's a trooper though, i know it was though for her towards the end. So the little boys name is Marshall Robert Rose and he has the cutest chubby cheeks.

We also took Rylee in the pool for the first time. I must say she is a water baby. She loves the water. We got her this big blow up star tube from Target and put her in it so her feet and tush were really the only things in the water and she just lounges in it. Then we took her out and put her further in the water and she liked that too. When i get the pictures i'll have to post them she looks so cute her her swim suite hat and sunglasses.

Also we went to Riverton for a little over a week recently to redo Debbie's (Ryan's mom) roof which was interesting. Anything that could go wrong pretty much did. First it started off well and then Ryan got sick. When he works really hard something with his inner ear goes funky and makes him dizzy to the point he gets sick, and it takes a few days to go away. The Dr ran some tests but his best guess is Ryan's ears. :( So then after that they were behind and my dad had to help Jesse with the roof for the few days. Then when Ryan was finally feeling better we got a call around 12:30am and our house down here in Cheyenne had been broken into. The thieves were caught in the act and were sent to jail thanks to our nice neighbor who called the cop right away. Really we own that lady a lot because they only got a $50 gift card. Although they were preparing to take the Xbox and Wii since they were unhooked and pulled out of our cabinet. Our room was kind of pulled apart i'm sure they were looking for hidden stacks of cash or jewelry but they really picked the wrong house, we don't have any of that stuff. But now we're getting our house a security system as well as fixing some issues we knew we had before. Well i think your up to date finally on our eventful month of June. Will post pictures as soon as i get them from people.

4 Month check up and First Solids

So last Tuesday Rylee had her four month check up. She weighted 16 lbs 3oz and the Dr said she was the size of a six month old in height and weight and her head was the size of a ten month old. Top 90Th percentile in everything and 95Th percentile on her head specifically. So what that means is we a have a big baby. Dr said no matter what size the child is now most all children end up being about the same size by 18 to 24 months of age. Rylee also got her shots, she was a little fussy for the first day or so but then it went away quickly, much faster than the first time she got shots.

We took Mr Teddy so she wouldn't be as scared to get shots!

So because of Rylee being ahead in size and the fact that her formula already has rice solids in it we were allowed to start her on rice cereal this last week. So far I haven't found a good routine. Sometimes she's really hungry and it's good to give her some formula first and other times she's more patient and will sit through eating the cereal which inevitably takes longer because she spits half the bite out because she's not used to solids. So we're still working on a routine but other than that she eats a small amount i would say 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup of cereal every night before bed and she actually eats most of the cereal instead of it all ending up on her face, bib, and hands. Here are a few pictures from her first day on solids.

Mothers Day

I recently celebrated my first Mothers Day. It was a lot of fun we went to church that morning, and listened to a good sermon. After that we came home had lunch and went bowling with my mom and dad. We also went to Olive Garden that night and i threw my diet out the window for the day and had a great meal and a wonderful dessert black tie mouse cake. My little girl slept pretty much through the whole dinner. She is such a good baby! It also helps that she was exhausted from her schedule being thrown off for two days.

So Rylee turned 4 months old today. It feels so strange to think that a year ago i had just found out that i was pregnant and now i have this wonderful, beautiful baby girl. I don't even remember what i did before her, but sleep. I took some recent pictures of her yesterday that i absolutely love. I had purchased a few bows at Wal Mart the day before and i just love them on her. I am making some blankets for people here soon i will post some pictures when i get done.

Graduation!

So Ryan graduated this last Saturday! It's been a long stressful time. It's seems like yesterday that he started at UW and now he's graduated. On Saturday i all got up bright and early and headed to Laramie to watch Ryan walk. Then we headed back to our house in Cheyenne for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun! We had 16 people sleeping at our house for two days which was interesting but fun it worked thanks to a 4 bedrooms and a giant family room which we have yet to furnish. Hoping to do so this summer assuming that we stay here which we would really like to.

Upcoming Graduation

So as most of you already know Ryan is Graduating with is Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education AND Mathematics. This last year has been tough with commuting and a new baby and just a ton of life changes for us. I'm so very proud of him for getting through this with everything that has been happening.

Just in case you got an announcement/ invite and realized that I'm just as forgetful as the next person i left the date off the card and so for everyone out there Graduation is May 8th at War Memorial Field House at 9:00 am-11:00am BBQ to follow at our house here in Cheyenne address below. Hope to see you all there! :)

Game Night!

So it seems that we are having a game night/ get together every other Saturday with Brand, Lesley-Grace, and Madison, and James, Amy, and Leila. We just started this about 3 weeks ago and have alternating houses, first we went to James and Amy's which is nice for us because they are within walking distance from us. Then we went to Brandon and Lesley-Grace's in Greeley, CO. That was also much fun, and yummy they made some good bagel sandwiches! This next time it's at our house but it's more a party than a game night since it will be Ryan's Graduation! We are very excited for him to graduate. I'll post pictures if i ever remember to bring a camera with me one of these days.

Let her Cry?

So Monday after Easter I've started Rylee on a new sleep schedule which includes naps that she wasn't getting. Also I'm try to get her to the point where she can put herself to sleep, starting with naps and working up to nighttime. So far we've had to really good days and 1 awful day, and 1 so so day thus far. I think she is getting that when she is laid down in the crib she needs to nap (because the only time i lay her in there by herself is when she is drowsy and needs a nap). It hard to know because she can't talk but i have hope that she'll do well i just have to keep up with it until it's second nature to her, but it's hard to listen to her cry all the time. I'll keep everyone posted on how it's going.

Easter

We had a good time in Riverton over Easter weekend. It was good to see all the family again and let the grandparents have some time with Rylee and Logan, since we rarely have all of us together. It was good to see Jenni and Lesley Grace both of which are due in June with their second children. Lesley Grace also had a baby shower over the weekend which was fun to hear all the baby stories from some of the older moms there. Now that I'm a mom i can relate so some of what they went through. On Easter we went to church with Rylee in her new Easter dress that Gram had gotten her, and then we headed off to Grandma and Grandpa Treese's for Breakfast with their great pancakes that they always make. Afterward it was fun to watch all of the kids hunt for Easter eggs. It made me excited for the day when Rylee gets to hunt after them.

Spring Break

So last week was Ryan's spring break. My brother and Mallory came up to help us put new flooring in our bathrooms and landing of our house. We were redoing them because the previous owners incorrectly put down stick tile linoleum which started to come up at the corners, and they carpeted the landing which was odd to us. So we got that all done and while Jesse and Ryan did that Mallory took some adorable pictures of Rylee for me. I absolutely love them!

Shots, and such

This past week has been a busy one. My friend and past room mate Kara has come to visit for a few days. The first few days we carpooled up to Riverton and Lander, so i could go to a baby shower, show Rylee off, and so Kara could visit her grandmother who lives in Lander. While in Riverton i went to a baby shower for my childhood friend Kayla who is having a little boy which they are naming Parker. Also i went and visited with some of Ryan's family who hadn't seen Rylee yet, but i couldn't make it to everyone so a lot of them will get to see her at Easter when we go home for a few days.

Once we got back from Riverton Rylee had her two month appointment. I got up the morning of the appointment a bit excited to see how much she has grown until i realized that she was going to have to get shots. So then i was dreading going to the Dr because i didn't do so well the last time she was poked with a needle. She did well though, she cried for a few minutes then she calmed down rather quickly and feel asleep which i was happy about because i don't like to see her in pain. Also she had gained 2lbs 4oz from her two week appointment.

As if we didn't do enough driving this past week Kara and i took a trip to Denver to see our Friend Andrew, and to meet his Fiancee Whitney. We had fun, we ate at Applebee's and reminisced, and shared about what's been going on in our lives. It was a short visit but it was fun.

State Diving & Chloe's Birthday

This last weekend we went to Gillette to watch Shawn (Ryan's little brother) compete in 4A swimming and Diving. Shawn made it through the first to cuts and took 11th place. He was a little disappointed but not to much as he always has next year to hopefully make all state or at least podium (top 6 places). He also swam in a relay but i can't remember what place he took. Also at the last chance meet the weekend before state Shawn beat Ryan's 11 dive record. It's a little bitter sweet for Ryan, but he's glad it's still in the family.

While we were in Gillette we stayed with my Uncle Gordon. I hadn't been to his house since a year or so before my Aunt died 10 years ago this November. It was hard because other than my immediate family she was the closest family member i had. The house still looked the exact same even had the pencil marks on the wall where she would measure all of us kids and the dates. I saw one from my birthday in 1992. It's amazing the things your brain can retain from such a young age. I went downstairs and saw toys that my brother and i played with as children still in the toy box. I'm not very good at dealing with death so i had a little moment by myself downstairs where i cried a little because i just expected her to come walking around the corner any minuet or yell down from the top of the stairs. Also i was a little sad because my uncle seemed so alone with out her! On a good note my cousins little twin boys are adorable and getting into everything, one tried to drink Windex while we were there. Everyone seems to be doing well though.

On Sunday we headed over to Buffalo for Chloe's second birthday party. She got lots of nice things including some Tinkerbell stuff which is her new favorite character, a rocking horse, a v-tech computer to play games on, and a tea set and fake food to help mommy cook. We had a cake of mostly icing because that's the way Chloe likes it. It was nice to see the family and have Amber meet Rylee for the first time. All in all it was a great weekend!

Logan James Malone

As of February 21st i have a new nephew! Ryan and i went down for Mallory's baby shower on Saturday. Saturday evening Mallory started have pains and contractions, but we all thought that she was in false labor again! Mom took her to the hospital just to have her checked, and Jesse, Ryan, and I stayed back. About 5:30 Jesse got a call saying that she was at five centimeters and her water had just broken. Jesse got her hospital bag packed and headed to the hospital which was roughly 15 to 20 minuets away and they called while he was almost to the hospital saying she was at 10 centimeters and ready to push. He made it just in time to see Logan crowning and watch him be born. Logan James Malone was born at 6:27am weighing 7lbs 1oz.

6 Weeks Old!

Well we've made it six weeks and everything seems to be going well. About 4 1/2 weeks old Rylee caught a cold from me and wouldn't sleep more than two hours in one stretch. About a week later and two very tired parents she slept 6 hours in a row! Now she's sleeping almost all night, some nights better than others of course but it is nice that we're getting more sleep. She is also smiling a lot more now, and she cooing and making Aaa sounds.

1 Month Old!/ February

So we've made it to the month mark without losing our minds! Mostly because my mom is here, but she will be leaving soon so we'll get to experience parenthood all by ourselves! I'm interested to see how things go when it's just Ryan and I. I think we'll do find our moms have gotten us through the toughest part in my opinion. Rylee is sleeping pretty well it's just we seem to get her days and nights flipped around pretty frequently, but i'm hoping we can get into a bedtime routine soon! Rylee is a happy baby she's only fussy when she is hungry or has gas, and most of the time she's awake she just looks around taking in this world. She also seems to be entertained by light (soft light like a lamp), i think it soothes her as weird as that sounds. Well it's on to month two, and i know this is what everyone says but i didn't realize how fast it all goes! She's almost getting to big for newborn clothes and diapers and is starting to fit into 0-3. :(

Well this month has been relatively uneventful. We did however take Rylee on her first trip out of Cheyenne, to Brandon and Lesley Grace's house in Greeley for the super bowl. It was fun, we watched the super bowl rooting for the Colts because that's Lesley Grace's team. We were ok that the Saints won because Ryan and I didn't care either way really. I actually slept through that fourth quarter because i was up early that morning with Rylee. Also we had a low key Valentines Day because i had been sick for a couple of days so we went to see a movie "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The lightening Thief" it was a good movie. It was a bit predictable but all around it was an entertaining movie to watch. This next weekend we'll be headed to Colorado Springs for Mallory's baby shower, and to see Jesse and Mallory's house, they have been renovating, before they move. Mallory is due the 10th of March exactly two months after i was due. Mom thinks she'll have the baby early, but i figure she'll go full term since this is her first. Well that's all for now.

Bottomless Pit!

So it's been three weeks since our little Rylee was born, and our new nickname for her is bottomless pit. I've never seen a newborn eat so much. She eats more than she sleeps, not kidding! It's been a little tough because she eats so much and sleeps less, so my mom and myself are up alternating taking care of her because Ryan has to get up early for student teaching. Although she is getting little bit better day by day, but it's still very draining and i look forward to the day she has a schedule even if I'm not a fan of when she gets up!

At her two week appointment Rylee had gained 18.8 oz since they had weighted her two days after she was born and is now a 8 ob 4 oz baby. She is also getting chubbier and filling out the loose skin she used to have when we left the hospital. Her little cheeks are getting bigger as well as her cute little legs! Well this is all i really have going on right now so I'll write again in a few! Love y'all!
