4 Month check up and First Solids

So last Tuesday Rylee had her four month check up. She weighted 16 lbs 3oz and the Dr said she was the size of a six month old in height and weight and her head was the size of a ten month old. Top 90Th percentile in everything and 95Th percentile on her head specifically. So what that means is we a have a big baby. Dr said no matter what size the child is now most all children end up being about the same size by 18 to 24 months of age. Rylee also got her shots, she was a little fussy for the first day or so but then it went away quickly, much faster than the first time she got shots.

We took Mr Teddy so she wouldn't be as scared to get shots!

So because of Rylee being ahead in size and the fact that her formula already has rice solids in it we were allowed to start her on rice cereal this last week. So far I haven't found a good routine. Sometimes she's really hungry and it's good to give her some formula first and other times she's more patient and will sit through eating the cereal which inevitably takes longer because she spits half the bite out because she's not used to solids. So we're still working on a routine but other than that she eats a small amount i would say 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup of cereal every night before bed and she actually eats most of the cereal instead of it all ending up on her face, bib, and hands. Here are a few pictures from her first day on solids.
