1 Week!

Well we've made it a week! It was really nice at first because we had both moms here and Ryan was off from student teaching for roughly a week. Now Debbie (Ryan's mom) has left us :( and Ryan has gone back to student teaching, and i have been doing pretty well but Rylee's appetite has increased so it seems as though she won't ever stop eating especially when i'm trying to get her to sleep at night. Thank God for my mom last night, i couldn't get her to sleep after trying four hours of feeding burping and changing i had to get some sleep because i was at my wits end. So my mom took her so i could get about seven and a half hours of uninterrupted sleep which was great! I never thought i would hear myself say seven and half hours of sleep is great considering when i was pregnant i would sleep all the time. All in all i think we are doing pretty well for only a week and she really does sleep pretty well most of the time. We are looking forward to my brother and Ryan's sister and their families coming down this weekend.

Rylee Berry Rivera

Well on Monday January 11th I had a doctors appointment, and found out that I had Bronchitis. I was so tired of not sleeping because I couldn't stop coughing, and I was getting less sleep than I am now that she is here. So when my Doctor asked if I was interested in inducing I didn't think twice about saying yes and the sooner the better. Needless to say I was headed into the hospital at ten the next morning to be induced. All in all the labor lasted 15 1/2 hours, and was a lot different than I had expected. I knew that inducing would be a lot tougher but I thought that if it got to bad I could get an epidural. Well my labor got started and I decided that I would like an epidural, and I waited for the anesthesiologist about 20 minuets. When he showed up I was relieved until it took two hours, about 12 needle pokes, and an epidural that only worked for about a half and hour before it quit working. So my original plan of natural childbirth was really my only option at this point. I'm not going to say it was easy by any means, but in the end it was all worth it. I was very groggy when she was born because any chance they would let me I would get another shot of pain killers, so my daughter was pasted around while I passed out until the nurse woke me up to feed her. I really got to connect with her when everyone went home and Ryan went to sleep because she started to cry so I picked her up and tried to feed her, but all she wanted was to fall asleep on me. I really enjoyed that!

Still Awaiting Her Arrival

So... it's two days away from my due date and we are still waiting for Rylee to show. My last doctors appointment was on Monday January 4th and i was only 1/2 a centimeter dilated but my cervix is starting to thin out. At this point i feel like i am just sitting and waiting, which i am basically, but it is driving me nuts. All i want at this point is to have this little girl and get some medicine for this cough which along with my heartburn is keeping me up at night. I can't wait to be sleep deprived for Rylee and not because I'm uncomfortable! Well please pray for us and hope everything goes well with the birth. I will post as soon as she is here.

Christmas in Riverton

This year we went to Riverton for Christmas as we normally do. We had extra time there this year since Ryan doesn't have to work so we were there for three weeks all together. We spent half the time staying with Ryan's mom and half staying with my parents. We had a nice time relaxing and spending time with the families. We were able to see all the Christmas concerts and plays this year as well as go to Rock and Linda's for a nice Christmas eve of games and good food. We had three Christmas's this year in a way, we spent Christmas day at Grandma Treese's, the day after Christmas we were at my parents house, and then Sunday we had Christmas with Ryan's mom and his family. We were also able to see Ryan's sister Jenni who we rarely get to see because we live on opposite sides of the state. While there we tried every self labor inducing method we could think of at no avail. We were really hoping Rylee would decide to make an appearance while we were in Riverton so all the family would be able to be there, but we didn't get to show her off not yet at least.
